
Fifth and sixth grade members of the Barton Hills Choir performed a show featuring rock’n’roll classics and holiday favorites at Austin’s legendary taqueria, Maria’s Taco Express on December 15. The concert featured Aaron Dembe on electric guitar, Jake Perlman on drums, and Tom Treanor on bells. Enjoy the pictures below kindly contributed by Perry Tongate. The Barton Hills Choir continued their busy December schedule, traveling to Fox 7 Austin studios this morning to record a performance for the Good Day Austin show which is scheduled to air at 9 AM on Christmas Day. The choir performed Jingle Bell Rock, Sleigh Ride, and Winter Wonderland with musical accompaniment by Aaron Dembe – guitar, Jason Brint – bass, Randy Franklin – mandolin, Jake Perlman – snare drum, and Tom Treanor – percussion. The Barton Hills Choir continued their tradition of performing at the annual lighting of the Zilker Holiday Tree on Sunday, December 2. Introduced by Mayor Lee Leffingwell, the choir performed three songs in the warm weather for a standing room only crowd and cheered mightily for their fellow students who won the Zilker Tree Art contest and got to throw the switch to illuminate the 155 foot tall tree with over 3,300 shining multicolored lights.
