If you missed the broadcast on Sunday, November 29 you can still view it above; the BHC performance starts at 15:08 but you’ll enjoy the entire video. Happy Holidays!

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected virtually every aspect of our world including the holiday traditions we celebrate. These circumstances have required the 2020 lighting of the Zilker Holiday Tree to be a virtual experience.

The Barton Hills Choir has performed at this event every year since 2009 when the Choir was first formed. They will continue their streak of consecutive appearances at the Zilker Holiday Tree Virtual Lighting on Sunday, November 29 at 6:00 PM.

For public safety, there are NO on site viewing or walk-up options for the 2020 ceremony. Please do not go to the tree in Zilker Park; the Choir will not be there.

To enjoy the lighting of the Zilker Holiday Tree you can tune in using any of the options below. This year you will need to provide your own hot chocolate, kettle corn, and other goodies to enjoy during the event instead of depending upon concession stands.

The Choir promises to help you get into the spirit of the season with their rousing renditions of classic holiday songs. Be sure to tune in!

BHC has performed at the annual lighting of the Zilker Holiday Tree each year since the Barton Hills Choir was formed in 2009. That’s over a decade of consecutive Choir performances at this much-loved Austin event that means even more to us since Zilker is virtually a neighborhood park for Barton Hills students.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Choir won’t be able to perform at the lighting of the Holiday Tree in Zilker Park this year, but will continue their continuous streak of appearances by participating in the Virtual Tree Lighting ceremony.
