Choir Director Gavin Tabone featured on Inside AISD

Last night AISD TV premiered a new series called Inside AISD.  This monthly 30 minute show highlights good news and programs in the district, recognizing both students and staff.  New episodes air on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30pm on AISD TV, Ch 22 on TimeWarner Cable and Grande Communications and U-Verse Ch 99. Full episodes are also posted to aisdtv.blogspot.com

Be sure to check out the premier episode that includes two features related to Barton Hills Elementary. The first story in the program profiles the “Fuel Up to Play” exercise and nutrition program and includes many BHE students in action on our playground. At 11:42 into the show you’ll find an interview with Choir Director Gavin Tabone that includes clips from several Choir performances and music videos.

2012 Zilker Tree Lighting video-Jingle Bell Rock

The Barton Hills Choir continued their tradition of performing at the annual lighting of the Zilker Holiday Tree on Sunday, December 2. Introduced by Mayor Lee Leffingwell, the choir performed three songs in the warm weather for a standing room only crowd and cheered mightily for their fellow students who won the Zilker Tree Art contest and got to throw the switch to illuminate the 155 foot tall tree with over 3,300 shining multicolored lights.
