Fun facts:
“High Hopes” was written by Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn for the 1959 movie A Hole In The Head, which starred Frank Sinatra and was directed by Frank Capra.
A children’s choir was used on the single release of “High Hopes,” which was credited to “Frank Sinatra and a bunch of kids.”
“Pick Yourself Up” by Jerome Kerns and Dorothy Fields was written for the film Swing Time (1936), where it was introduced by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
President Barack Obama, in his inauguration speech, quoted lyrics from the song, saying “Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.”
Barton Hills 3rd and 4th grade choir members performed their annual Halloween Show to an appreciative audience at the school on October 27. The choir performed oldies favorites including Love Potion #9, Charlie Brown, Daydream Believer, and many more. They were accompanied by Choir Director Gavin Tabone on keyboards and Jake ‘Mr Bubbles’ Perlman on snare drum.

The Barton Hills Choir performed on Saturday, October 8 at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, sharing the Austin Kiddie Limits stage with renowned Austin singer/songwriter Nakia.
