On December 22, 2009, sixth-grade members of the Barton Hills Choir joined host John Aielli on KUT’s Eklektikos for a special holiday performance.

Aielli and Barton Hills Choir director Gavin Tabone talked about the choir and its musicians between performances of eight holiday favorites. Choir members also introduced themselves, and the program included a mention of the choir’s upcoming appearance on KLRU’s Voices of Light television broadcast.

“Wow, these kids are good!” Aielli proclaims near the end of the program. When he compliments the choir on their moves during “Jingle Bell Rock,” you can hear the choir members giggling in the background.

The original KUT web page and audio for this program disappeared from the web over the years, but in September 2026, Todd Callahan of KUTX located the December 22, 2009 recording in the station’s archives and generously provided Barton Hills Choir with a copy and permission to make it available here as part of the choir’s historical archive.
