Barton Hills fith and sixth grade choir members perform Pinball Wizard

Enjoy this rousing rendition of Pinball Wizard, performed by 5th and 6th grade Barton Hills choir members. Musicians include Choir Director Gavin Tabone on keyboards,  Jake “Mr. Bubbles” Perlman on drums, Jason “Mr. Boom Boom” Brint on bass, and Aaron “Hair Doctor” Dembe on guitar. Fun facts about Pinball Wizard:

  • Pinball Wizard was written by Pete Townshend and performed by the English rock band The Who. It was featured on their 1969 rock opera album Tommy.
  • Townshend once called it “the most clumsy piece of writing [he’d] ever done, and added the song to Tommy as an afterthought to lighten the load of the rock opera’s heavy spiritual overtones.

Barton Hills choir members rehearse the Beatles’ Help!

Barton Hills sixth grade choir members perform Dreaming Eagles

Here’s a new arrangement of Dreaming Eagles, performed by 6th grade choir members at Barton Hills. Words, music, and keyboard accompaniment by Choir Director Gavin Tabone. Drums provided by the dependable Jake “Mr. Bubbles” Perlman, with Aaron “Hair Doctor” Dembe on guitar. Mr. Tabone also shot and edited the video.
