At Monday Assembly on January 25 Barton Hills Choir Director and Music Teacher Mr. Gavin Tabone was presented with a special honor: he was named Teacher of the Year. The Teacher of the Year is determined by a vote of the teachers at the school, and the award comes with a highly coveted crown which you can see Mr. Tabone wearing proudly in the picture above. Congratulations Mr. Tabone!

Second and third grade members of the Barton Hills Choir have been practicing for their Spring Performance. Be sure to attend the PTA Meeting at the school on Thursday, January 21 to enjoy their songs. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM.

The City of Austin Channel 6 is airing a 3 minute video highlight of the 2009 Zilker Park Tree Lighting that includes the Barton Hills Choir. The video is also available on their web site.
