Here’s a video of the Barton Hills Choir singing the Patience and Prudence classic Tonight You Belong To Me at the choir summer camp 2012 performance. The choir is made up of 2nd through 6th graders from Barton Hills Elementary School in Austin, TX and is accompanied by Gavin Tabone on keys, Jake Perlman on drums, and Aaron Dembe on bass.
Fun Facts:
- Patience and Prudence McIntyre were two sisters who recorded Tonight You Belong To Me at age 14 and 11, respectively. It reached #4 on the Billboard charts in 1956 and sold over a million copies.
- The girls reportedly learned the song while at summer camp two years earlier.
- Tonight You Belong To Me had originally been a hit for Gene Austin in 1927.
I want to thank you so much for this outstanding website and for sharing your performances! I am an elementary choir teacher and I came across you guys. I am just in awe. Amazing. Brings tears to my eyes!
