Fifth grade Barton Hills Choir members are scheduled to record a show of Christmas music at KUT in Studio 1A on Friday, December 17. The show will air the following week – watch this web site for specific date and time.

Meanwhile, here are six rehearsal songs to practice for the KUT show. Musicians for these recordings are:

  • Gavin Tabone, bass and piano
  • Aaron “Hair Doctor” Dembe, guitar
  • Jake “Mr. Bubbles” Perlman, drums

Fun facts:

  • The Christmas Song (more commonly recognized by the beginning verse “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”) was written by Mel Torme and Bob Wells in 1944 in the middle of a blistering hot summer.
  • According to BMI “The Christmas Song” is the most performed Christmas song. One of the most recent artists to record it is Vanessa Doofenshmirtz for Phineas and Ferb Holiday Favorites.
