The article profiles the choir and includes pictures by Chan Geltemeyer from their recent Austin City Limits Music Festival performance. Cohen also refers to our school Principal Kati Achtermann as “the hardest working roadie at the 2013 ACL Festival” while shepherding 55 students from bus to stage, and describes Choir Director Gavin Tabone as “both movie-star dashing and band-camp dorky—as well as super-passionate and serious.” Don’t miss it!
This story featuring the Barton Hills Choir aired on local news channel YNN during the first weekend of the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The video was originally limited to Time Warner subscribers, but Director Gavin Tabone has made arrangements with YNN to share it here.
Time Warner’s YNN news channel featured the Barton Hills Choir in a story on October 5, with reporter Jess Mitchell sporting a stylish BHC Choir T-shirt as she reported live from the Austin City Limits Festival after their performance. The story is available on the YNN web site, titled Small Singers Take On Big ACL Stage, but unfortunately is only accessible to Time Warner customers. Below are some screen shots from the video, which included footage of the choir rehearsing, interviews with choir members and director Gavin Tabone, and of course the live performance on the Zilker Stage at ACL.
